DJI has launched the DJI Dock 2, the DJI Matrice 3D and the Matrice 3DT. The DJI Dock 2 and the DJI Matrice 3D/T are only available on the Chinese market, according to the DJI website. The new DJI Dock 2 is smaller than the first version of the DJI Dock demonstrated during last year’s DJI Airworks event in Las Vegas.
DJI Dock 2 revolutionizes remote drone operations
The DJI Dock 2 works in conjunction with the DJI Matrice 3D and 3DT, drones designed specifically for launching from the dock station.
The DJI Dock 2 can be used outdoors, as it has an IP55 rating to cope with various weather conditions. The combination of dock station and drone has an operating range of 6 miles and features an environmental monitoring system.
The DJI Matrice 3D and 3DT Drones
Along with the DJI Dock 2, the drone manufacturer has launched the DJI Matrice 3D and Matrice 3DT in China.
As we saw in the previous photos, the DJI Matrice 3D/T drones have been specifically designed to work with the DJI Dock 2. For example, unlike the DJI Mavic 3 series, these drones do not have folding arms and are designed so that they fit perfectly into the landing zone of the dock.
The DJI Matrice 3D and Matrice 3DT feature omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, a maximum operating range of 6 miles, a flight time of 50 minutes and a battery rated for 400 cycles.
The drones have an integrated RTK module to aid precise landing with an accuracy of just over one inch on the DJI Dock 2.
- The DJI Matrice 3D drone has a 20 MP 4/3 CMOS wide-angle sensor with mechanical shutter and a 12 MP 1/2″ CMOS telephoto sensor.
- The Matrice 3DT has a 48MP 1/1.32-inch CMOS sensor, the same 12MP 1/2″ CMOS telephoto sensor and a 640×512 thermal camera.
The sensors are very similar to those in the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise and DJI Mavic Enterprise Thermal.
