What is the maximum flight speed of the DJI Mavic Mini?
Before flying the drone, certain factors must be taken into account that the drone owner must be aware of at all times. The current regulations must be taken into account and you must know in which areas you can fly a drone and in which areas you cannot. The European drone regulations that came into force on 31 December 2020 affect all types of drones, regardless of their weight and size. It sets out all the rules that must be followed to fly these technological devices, so the recommendations and rules mentioned in this document must be followed in order for the flight to be legal. You must also take into account the restrictions of the areas and locations where you plan to film. There are places where video recording and image capture is prohibited.
The average speed of the Mavic Mini is 8 metres per second, but this depends on the flight mode in which the device is configured, as it has three different possible flight modes: sport mode, position mode or CineSmooth mode. Therefore, the maximum speed it can reach in normal atmospheric conditions is 13 metres per second in Sport mode. It is recommended that if you are flying a device like this for the first time or are just learning to fly, do not use this mode until you are more comfortable and experienced in flying. Sport mode can be really fast! In position mode you will get up to about 8 metres per second and in CineSmooth mode you will get up to 4 metres per second.
The maximum ascent speed is 4 metres per second in Sport mode, 2 metres per second in Position mode and 1.5 metres per second in CineSmooth mode.
On the other hand, the maximum descent speed will be 3 metres per second, 1.8 metres per second and 1 metre per second depending on which mode you are in. All this is subject to favourable weather conditions.
Although it is worth noting that the DJI Mavic Mini’s maximum wind resistance is 8 metres per second at scale 4. It should be noted that it is not a good idea to push the drone to its limits of flight range, video transmission range or maximum battery life, as this could cause problems for the drone.
