Mission Planning
Planning software: FlightHub 2.
Operation setup: We established 13 reference points for taking photos or recording videos of important assets around the perimeter.
Height: 80 m. The mission was planned using FlightHub 2.
Equipment used:
- Dock 3 with integrated 4G module.
- DJI Matrice 4TD.
Cost optimization
With the implementation of this surveillance system, the police unit achieves annual savings of approximately €100,000 in human and material resources allocated to its security tasks.
This system, successfully implemented in this unit, has aroused the interest of other units of the GNR and the Portuguese Army, which are considering its possible adoption.
SEGURITY
Embracing the future of GNR perimeter security, DOCK 3 stands as a fundamental innovation, offering optimized efficiency and unparalleled security, while strategically positioning our forces at the forefront of surveillance capabilities.
- Effective management of perimeter security for large facilities presents considerable operational complexities and requires a substantial allocation of resources.
- To address these challenges, we actively seek innovative solutions that improve efficiency, optimize critical response times, and enhance the safety of operational personnel.
- Dock 3 emerges as a technological response to these challenges, raising the level of safety and efficiency in missions.
Remote and autonomous operation:
- Routing scheduling and full remote control from the command center.
- Reduced human effort and greater flexibility in resource management.
This system provides continuous aerial coverage around the entire perimeter, extending to areas that are difficult or inaccessible to traditional ground patrols. This capability significantly improves deterrence and enables early detection of threats.
Dock 3 is a smart station that enables the takeoff, landing, recharging, and storage of surveillance drones with automatic flights.
Using intelligent target detection (AI), the system can automatically identify, count, and track people, vehicles, and boats.
All information from the rounds is recorded for subsequent analysis and continuous improvement of security strategies.
Advantage:
Data-driven decision-making and optimization of future operations.
In this case, the simultaneous operation of RGB and thermal cameras provided a comprehensive and comparative analysis, which significantly improved our assessment of the extent of the fire.
SURVEILLANCE
During a routine perimeter surveillance mission, the drone’s early detection of a residential fire allowed the pilot to manually direct the UAV to the location.
This real-time aerial support, combined with direct radio communication, significantly helped the fire department quickly extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent residences.
In this case, the simultaneous operation of RGB and thermal cameras provided a comprehensive and comparative analysis, which significantly improved our assessment of the extent of the fire.
FlightHub 2 now features a new augmented reality street projection feature, which displays street names in the virtual cockpit to provide better landmarks.
Dock 3 is monitoring a warehouse suspected of illegal activities, taking advantage of its superior zoom and high image quality.
Conduct surveillance and locate points of interest (POI) in areas with potential criminal activity and risks to public health. This is done using the zoom and location function.
Vehicle-mounted deployment mode
For specific missions where it is necessary to deploy the drone to conduct investigations outside the dock’s coverage area, this allows for continuous surveillance, regardless of whether the target is moving. It also provides real-time data on free flight operations, increasing its versatility. (Vehicle-mounted deployment mode)
- Virtual Cockpit now supports multimodal object detection. This new feature allows users to configure alerts by entering text, uploading images, or selecting objects in real time.
- All snapshots are automatically saved in a specific folder and can be filtered using tags. Users can also customize alert notification types and set specific logging intervals.
Patrol Route
In Patrol Route, it is now possible to specify areas for inspection. The system can automatically identify people, vehicles, and boats within the patrol area using intelligent recognition algorithms, and will send alert notifications.
It is also possible to create 3D maps of the terrain to prepare missions with greater precision.
