DJI ZENMUSE S1

Illuminates the night

The Zenmuse S1 is DJI’s first spotlight designed for drone platforms with multiple payloads, compatible with the Matrice 350 RTK and Matrice 300 RTK. Thanks to LEP technology, it offers high brightness and a wide illumination distance, as well as supporting multiple lighting modes. This makes it ideal for public safety, emergency rescue, inspections and other night operations.

Low light mode: Provides a 15° field of view (FOV) within a distance of 150 meters, covering the illumination range of a 5x or higher zoom camera. This mode is suitable for most search and inspection needs at close range.

High light mode: Using LEP (laser excited phosphor) technology for better light penetration, this mode offers a 4° field of view (FOV) at a distance of 300°. meters. Covers the illumination range of a 15x or higher zoom camera, improving efficiency in emergency rescue and public safety operations.

Both modes activated:
Simultaneously activates both low beam and high beam, providing more central illumination than high beam mode alone. Maintains the field of view (FOV) of the low beam mode and extends the viewing distance up to 500 meters.
This mode provides maximum illumination coverage for complete situational awareness.

Strobe mode: Zenmuse S1 supports high-frequency strobe light to effectively alert and attract the attention of target persons, making it particularly useful for signaling in emergency rescue and public safety situations.

Brightness meets energy efficiency

The Zenmuse S1 offers a maximum center illuminance of 35 lux at 100 meters, which provides ample illumination in dark environments to clearly distinguish subject details. In addition, the power consumption in high beam mode is only 17 W. This reduces the drone’s power load and helps maintain flight autonomy.

Reliable and intuitive

Payload protection

Zenmuse S1 is equipped with multiple protection mechanisms for temperature, overcurrent, power and more, improving reliability and product lifetime.

Burn protection

Zenmuse S1 has a plastic housing with a contact surface temperature of no more than 50°C (122°F), effectively preventing burn hazards.

Eye protection

When the drone is not in flight, Zenmuse S1 automatically dims the light to 40% of its maximum brightness to prevent glare and protect the operator’s vision.

Efficient remote control shortcuts

Zenmuse V1 supports customizable remote control shortcuts, allowing you to set buttons to adjust brightness, turn the light on and off, or change the lighting mode. This makes it convenient and intuitive to use, significantly enhancing the user experience.

Strong environmental adaptability

With an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, the Zenmuse S1 can operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -20° to 40° C (-4° to 104° F), making it adaptable to a variety of operating environments.

Flexible mounting, lightweight construction

The Zenmuse S1 can be mounted on any gimbal connector, be it a single lower gimbal, two lower gimbals or a single upper gimbal, adapting to various operational needs. Weighing only 0.76 kg (0.76 lb)
It is compact and easy to transport.

Mobile SDK

With Mobile SDK, users can quickly integrate Zenmuse S1 features into their self-developed mobile applications, unlocking the capabilities of their drone platform to meet specialized needs.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions
What drone platform is the Zenmuse S1 compatible with?
Matrice 350 RTK and Matrice 300 RTK. The only compatible remote control is the DJI RC Plus. Before use, update the drone and remote control to the latest firmware version.

On which gimbal connector can I mount the Zenmuse S1?
Can be mounted on any gimbal connector on Matrice 350 RTK or Matrice 300 RTK.

What is the ingress protection (IP) rating of the Zenmuse S1?

IP54.

Under controlled laboratory conditions, it can achieve IP54 protection rating according to IEC60529. The IP rating is not permanent and may decrease due to product wear.

What is the maximum illuminance of Zenmuse S1?

≥ 35 lux a 100 m.

Measured in a laboratory environment at an ambient temperature of 25 °C (77 °F) with the Zenmuse S1 installed in the aircraft and in “Both On” mode.

What is the illumination range of the Zenmuse S1?
The low beam and both modes have a field of view of 15°, corresponding to an illuminated area of approximately 544 m² at a distance of 100 m (328 ft).
The low beam and both modes have a field of view of 15°, corresponding to an illuminated area of approximately 544 m² at a distance of 100 m.The high beam mode has a field of view of 4°, corresponding to an illuminated area of approximately 38 m² at a distance of 100 m.
What are the differences between the three Zenmuse S1 modes?
The low beam mode provides a wide and even beam spread, matching the field of view of Zenmuse H20/H30 series cameras with 5x zoom or higher. It is suitable for terrestrial illumination and supplemental illumination for image capture.
The high beam mode provides a narrower but very penetrating beam spread, which matches the field of view of Zenmuse H20/H30 series cameras with 15x zoom or higher. It is suitable for long distance observation with low power consumption.
The “Both On” mode provides wide beam spread and high central illuminance. It is suitable for ground operation illumination and long distance illumination.
What precautions should be taken when using Zenmuse S1?
1. Using the spotlight in high humidity environment may cause fogging, which does not affect its optical performance. After use, place it in a dry and ventilated area for a short time; the fogging will dissipate naturally.
2. When using the searchlight at night, there may be cases where the obstacle avoidance function does not work properly. You can disable the obstacle avoidance function if necessary and operate the aircraft and spotlight in relatively open and unobstructed areas.
3. Do not directly touch or scratch the surface coating of the spotlight lens with hard objects, as this may reduce the efficiency of the light output, affecting the luminous flux and illuminance.
4. When cleaning the focus lens, be sure to use a soft, dry, clean cloth. Do not use alkaline detergents.
5. Store the lamp in a safe, dry and ventilated case. The recommended ambient humidity is between 40% and 50%.
What are the application scenarios for Zenmuse S1?
Including, among others, public safety, emergency rescue, emergency repairs, traffic control and equipment inspection.
What should I do if fogging occurs when using the Zenmuse S1?
When used in low temperature environments, the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the lens can cause internal fogging. This is a common physical phenomenon and difficult to avoid completely. According to our tests, fogging has minimal impact on illuminance and does not appreciably affect product performance. The device can be used normally.
